Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026.05.29.
This Privacy Policy explains how Supaste (“Supaste,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you download, purchase, install, and use the App.
Supaste is designed as a local-first macOS clipboard history app. Your clipboard history is stored on your Mac, not on our servers.
1. What Supaste Is
Supaste is a macOS application that helps you save, organize, search, and reuse your clipboard history.
The App may provide access through a menu bar app, a notch-style panel, and a Library window. Depending on your settings and usage, Supaste may process copied text, links, images, screenshots, files, code snippets, colors, rich text, SVG content, and related metadata.
2. Local-First by Design
Supaste processes and stores clipboard history locally on your Mac.
We do not operate user accounts for the App. We do not provide cloud sync. We do not collect your clipboard history on our servers. We do not use analytics or telemetry to track your usage.
Your local Supaste data may be stored in locations such as:
~/Library/Application Support/Supaste/
Supaste settings and preferences may also be stored using standard macOS storage systems, such as UserDefaults.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Depending on how you use the App, Supaste may store the following information locally on your Mac:
Clipboard content you copy, such as text, code, links, images, files, rich text, colors, SVG content, and similar items
Screenshots or screenshot references, if screenshot capture or folder monitoring is enabled
Metadata such as copy timestamps, item type, file information, and, when available, the source application’s bundle identifier
User-created categories, favorites, filters, and organization preferences
App settings, privacy preferences, retention settings, and capture preferences
Locally generated thumbnails, previews, OCR text, or other supporting data used to display and search your history
This information is stored locally on your Mac and is not sent to us.
4. Clipboard Monitoring
Supaste may monitor the macOS clipboard while the App is running in order to detect new copied items and save them to your local clipboard history.
You can pause clipboard capture or change what types of content Supaste saves in the App settings.
Because clipboard content may include sensitive or confidential information, you should only use Supaste in environments where local clipboard history is appropriate for your needs.
5. Screenshots and Folder Monitoring
Supaste may optionally monitor folders such as Desktop or Pictures to detect screenshots or other supported files. This requires macOS permissions that you control.
If you enable screenshot monitoring, Supaste may store screenshot files, screenshot references, thumbnails, OCR text, timestamps, and related metadata locally on your Mac.
You can disable screenshot capture or folder monitoring at any time in the App settings or through macOS permissions.
6. Sensitive Content Detection
By default, Supaste attempts to detect and avoid saving sensitive clipboard content, such as:
Passwords
API keys
Private keys
SSH keys
Access tokens
Credit card numbers
.envfilesCredentials and similar confidential material
Sensitive content detection happens locally on your Mac.
However, automated detection is not perfect. Supaste may fail to detect sensitive content, or it may incorrectly classify non-sensitive content as sensitive.
You can adjust sensitive content settings in the App. If you choose to allow Supaste to save sensitive content, you do so at your own risk.
7. Link Previews and Network Use
Supaste is primarily offline.
When Supaste creates previews for links in your clipboard history, Apple system frameworks such as LinkPresentation may use your internet connection to fetch link metadata, titles, images, icons, or preview information from the relevant website.
We do not receive your clipboard history or link preview data from Apple’s system frameworks. We do not control the privacy practices of third-party websites that may be contacted when link previews are generated.
8. Payment Information
Supaste is sold as a one-time purchase through our payment provider, Polar.sh.
When you purchase Supaste, payment, billing, tax, receipt, and related purchase information may be processed by Polar.sh. We do not directly process or store your full payment card details.
Your payment information is handled according to Polar.sh’s own terms and privacy policy.
We may receive limited purchase-related information from Polar.sh, such as your email address, order status, product purchased, license or download access information, and payment status, where necessary to provide access to the App, support your purchase, prevent abuse, or handle refund and licensing issues.
9. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or receive:
Your clipboard history
Your screenshots
Your copied text, links, files, images, code, colors, or SVG content
Your local categories, favorites, or search history
Analytics or telemetry about how you use the App
Personal information through user accounts, because Supaste does not use user accounts
10. Data Retention
Supaste may let you choose how long local clipboard history is kept, such as 7, 15, 30, or 90 days, or indefinitely.
Favorites, custom categories, settings, and preferences may be retained longer depending on your settings.
You can delete individual items, clear your history, remove favorites, pause capture, disable screenshot capture, or uninstall the App.
Uninstalling the App may not automatically remove all locally stored files, preferences, caches, or backups created by macOS. If you want to remove all local Supaste data, you may need to delete remaining files from Supaste’s Application Support folder and related macOS storage locations.
11. Your Controls
Supaste gives you controls over how your local history is captured and stored. Depending on the App version, these controls may include:
Pause clipboard capture
Disable screenshot capture
Choose supported content types
Delete individual history items
Clear all history
Clear non-favorite items
Manage favorites
Create or remove custom categories
Change retention period
Adjust sensitive content detection
Disable notifications
Change macOS permissions
Uninstall the App
12. Security
Supaste is designed to keep your clipboard history local to your Mac.
However, no app, device, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Anyone with access to your Mac, macOS user account, backups, or local files may be able to access locally stored Supaste data.
You are responsible for securing your Mac, using a strong device password, enabling FileVault if appropriate, managing backups, and controlling who has access to your device.
13. Third-Party Services
Supaste may rely on third-party services or system frameworks for limited purposes, including:
Polar.sh for payment processing, purchase delivery, licensing, receipts, taxes, and related purchase operations
Apple system frameworks, such as LinkPresentation, for link previews
Third-party websites contacted by Apple system frameworks when generating link previews
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, reliability, or availability of third-party services or websites.
14. Children’s Privacy
Supaste is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information related to a Supaste purchase or support request, please contact us so we can review and delete the information where appropriate.
15. International Users
Supaste is a local-first app, and clipboard history is stored on your device.
Purchase-related information processed by Polar.sh may be handled in accordance with Polar.sh’s own privacy policy and may be processed in countries outside your country of residence.
16. Legal Requirements
We may disclose limited information we have, such as purchase or support-related information, if required to do so by law, legal process, or a valid government request.
Because Supaste does not collect your clipboard history on our servers, we generally cannot provide clipboard history, screenshots, copied content, or local App data in response to such requests.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, on our website, or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of Supaste after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
18. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us.
